The arena area in Växjö has on Monday been transformed into a large trade fair, waiting for 13,000 school students to attend the Vocational Championships.

In the Tipshallen, helicopters and forest machines stand side by side in stands, and volunteers are struggling to get the final preparations in place.

- There is a great shortage of skills in many professions, which more people need to apply for already in high school.

Yrkes-SM is a fantastic way to show the educations, and what opportunities there are, says project manager Jenny Pettersson.

World Cup in Shanghai

This is the first time since the pandemic restrictions were released that the Swedish Championships can be held.

- It has been shaky and uncertain whether we will be able to implement this.

But now we are here and it feels absolutely fantastic, says Jenny Pettersson.

The championship kicks off on May 10-12, and more than 200 young people compete in 30 professional categories.

The young people who win the Swedish Championships in their profession get the chance to represent Sweden at the professional World Cup in Shanghai.
