A serious traffic accident occurred this Monday at the start of the afternoon on the RN 24 in the direction of Lorient-Rennes, we learned from the firefighters of Ille-et-Vilaine.

Around 1:30 p.m., a car hit a heavy goods vehicle at the exit towards the towns of Rheu and Chavagne, east of Rennes.

The impact was violent and the two passengers in the car were seriously injured.

The driver was transported in absolute urgency to the CHU Pontchaillou in Rennes.

A 5-year-old child who was also on board was also taken to South Hospital in serious condition.

An investigation, entrusted to the gendarmerie, was opened to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
