Kadyrov: Chechen soldiers take control of the Ukrainian city of Bubasna

Ramzan Kadyrov, President of Russia's Chechnya, said yesterday that his soldiers had captured most of the eastern Ukrainian city of Bubasna, while Ukrainian officials said a battle for control of the town in the country was continuing.

In mid-April, Russian forces launched a new offensive along the eastern side of Ukraine, which has recently seen some attacks and intense bombardment, around Popasna in the Luhansk region.

"Chechen special forces fighters have taken control of most of Popasna, the main streets and central districts of the city have been completely cleared," Kadyrov, who often described himself as a "foot soldier" under the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin, wrote in a post on the messaging app Telegram. .
