One of the organizers of the cultural evening is Matiljba Faizi.

He came to Sweden in connection with the latest wave of refugees, 2015. For just over a year now, he has been working at Save the Children.

- I recognize myself in the pain they have.

They are fleeing the war and I have experienced the same things in my home country, he says.

Calls to stop hatred

The home country he is talking about is Afghanistan and there Mujtaba Faizi worked to coordinate cultural events, similar to what takes place at Björknässkolan in Boden.

Another who is involved in arranging the cultural evening is Ibrahim al-Haj, who previously worked as a teacher at various schools in Boden.

- I have noticed that there is a growing hatred among the new generation and therefore this call is needed, he says and believes that many refugees who came to Sweden have been segregated but that nothing is done to break the segregation.
