The new park is bordered by the old Fredriksdalsskolan and the colony area Brytstugan, a couple of hundred meters from the Water Tower in Fredriksdal.

A little fix remains before it is completely ready for inauguration at the city fair H22 this summer.

Here, there will soon be an opportunity for double history lessons.

"Honor her donation"

The park's name is named after Gisela Trapp, the woman who donated the manor and surrounding land to the city of Helsingborg in 1918.

The same land where the park is now being built.

- We want to honor her generous donation with this naming, says Christian Orsing (M), chairman of the city planning committee, where the decision on the park's name was made.

The theme of the playground, which is interspersed with greenery, has a different historical connection.

Here it is dinosaurs that count - according to the children's own wishes.

- Here we have, among other things, one of Sweden's first dedicated children's toilets, says Christian Orsing.

In the new park, in addition to a playground, more seats, new lighting and a pedestrian and bicycle path will be built through the Brytstugan colony area.

Female names have been requested

Voices have been raised that too few public places and streets are named after women, as SVT previously reported.

According to Christian Orsing, it has influenced the decision to name the park after a woman.

- It has done so to a very high degree.

There has been repeated courtship in the matter, but it is important to find a natural connection to physical places and human deeds and I really think we have succeeded with that here, says Christian Orsing.
