Several dog daycares that SVT talked about were humiliated by desperate dog owners when the restrictions were released.

The dog daycare Stjärntassar in Bagarmossen has never before received so many inquiries from owners in urgent need of a daycare place.

- I will start working in a month, and I need to find a solution for my dog now, so many said, says dog daycare manager Sanna Lindquist.

Not trained

But it is not just the lack of kindergarten places that creates problems after the pandemic.

Many of the dogs that lay at home under their master and mother's desks and listened to digital job meetings have not been brought up, and become stressed when they are to be left behind.

- They are worried about separation anxiety and have difficulty connecting with the staff, says Sanna Lindquist.

Dog owners can not speak "canine"

The dog jogger Pernilla Bergkvist has worked with dogs for many years.

According to her, corona dogs are often impulse purchases - where the owners have not had knowledge of what life with a dog means.

She has had to say no to several dogs that have not been able to be part of the herd.

- There is no major fault in the dogs, but it is the master and mistress who need to be trained in speaking "canine", she says.
