Antoine Alléno, the son of multi-starred chef Yannick Alléno, was killed on Sunday evening after being hit in the 7th arrondissement of Paris by a fleeing driver, driving a stolen vehicle.

The suspect, who tried to flee on foot, was arrested by an off-duty police officer and has since been in custody.

The facts took place Sunday evening shortly before 11:30 p.m., in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.

According to information from Europe 1, Antoine Alléno, the son of multi-starred chef Yannick Alléno, died after being hit by a fleeing driver who had just stolen a luxury car.

The suspect arrested

According to the first elements, the thief first presented himself to a restaurant valet with a fake ticket to be given the keys to an Audi RS6 in which he fled. 

The fugitive then hit, at high speed, a VTC car at a red light, rue Bosquet before finishing his race by dropping a self-service electric scooter, "City Scoot", at a standstill.

The driver, the son of Yannick Alléno, died on the spot despite the cardiac massages provided by the emergency services.

The passenger and the driver of the VTC were transported to Cochin hospital, without vital prognosis but suffering from multiple bruises.

The suspect, who fled on foot, was arrested by an off-duty police officer.

He was positive for alcohol and narcotics.

He was taken into custody.
