A fire broke out simultaneously in southern Siberia, Russia.

At least 10 people were killed and hundreds of buildings burned down in the fire.

The damage seems to have increased as the strong winds spread the flames further.

Violent flames engulf forests and roads, and burn the entire village to ashes.



The sky was covered with black smoke from the fire.



Firefighters are helpless in strong winds of up to 40 m/s.

Krasnoyarsk Oblast, 3,000 km east of Moscow, said more than 450 houses were burned in 16 regions.



So far, at least 5 people have been killed and 17 people have been injured.

Large fires followed in nearby Kakasia, Kemerovo and Omsk.



Local authorities in Kemerovo said three bodies were recovered from the burned down building.



Two people were killed in Omsk.



It is rare for a large fire to occur in southwestern Siberia in May, and the lack of rain and strong winds caused the fire to spread out of control.



Local law enforcement officials believe the fire was caused by an electrical short, but a possible arson is also being investigated.
