Nablus -

Despite the pain and bitterness, the families of Asaad Al-Rifai, 19, and Subhi Sbeihat, 20, who were arrested by the occupation forces on Sunday after accusing them of carrying out Operation Elad last Thursday, in which 3 Israelis were killed and 3 others seriously wounded, seem to be relieved despite the pain and bitterness.

After about 4 days of pursuit by large numbers of forces, the occupation army announced this morning, Sunday, the arrest of the two young men in a nearby area, only 500 meters from the Elad area, as reported by the Israeli media. Pictures and video clips broadcast by the Israeli media showed luring the detainees by calling them and asking them to leave. From under a dense wooded tree they were hiding under it.

As soon as the two perpetrators left Al-Rifai and Sbeihat, the occupation army arrested and handcuffed them and conducted a field investigation with them.

The media also circulated pictures of the two young men and video clips, and Asaad appeared in a video clip, handcuffed behind him and smoking his cigarette, which angered the Israeli street, especially the settlers, some of whom wrote on the social media platforms, “Smoking instead of being inside a black bag,” referring to To incite them and kill them, while Sobhi appeared lying on the ground, stripped of his lower clothes, with bruises and blood in the back of his head and face, which made it likely that he had been beaten.

lonely

While the Israeli occupation authorities were busy transferring the two prisoners to their prisons to complete their interrogation, the village of Rummana, near the city of Jenin, from which the two young men hail, lived in a state of calm accompanied by stability after the “arrest without liquidation” took place, especially since the incitement by the extremist settlers did not stop against them.

In the village (inhabited by about 4,000 people) on the border with the occupied Palestinian interior in 1948, Asaad Youssef Al-Rifai and his friend Subhi Imad Sbeihat were born and lived together, and they joined work early, and nothing is known about them except “intimate friendship and familiarity in life and work and similarity to work in the profession of extending electricity to homes.” , according to Tariq Sabihat, Sobhi's relative.

Sobhi is the only one for his mother and father, and he was unlucky in high school two years ago, so he joined a vocational education center in his city, Jenin, and finished with excellency learning the profession of "extending home electricity", which is the same specialty (home electricity) that his friend Asaad learned, and he is one of 4 Siblings after he finished high school.

Quiet and lonely

Tariq Sbeihat told Al Jazeera Net that the two young men did not appear in any way except for the good relationship with each other and with the people of the village in general, and their behavior did not show any cause of suspicion and anxiety, and even "the preparation and planning of any resistance action, and they are calm by nature and do not show any signs of violence." .

Subaihat estimated that what happened was nothing but a "natural reaction to what the Palestinian territories are experiencing in general and the city of Jenin in particular, as a result of the harassment and attacks of the occupation", and that it is an "individual act without the support of a faction, organization or prior arrangement."

Video clips broadcast in the first moments of the families of the two captives after the operation showed that the two families denied any prior knowledge of their sons' intention to carry out this or any other act, and denied that the captives belonged to any faction.

It is likely that Asaad and Sobhi have been working in Israel for more than a year, and that they have been working in the settlement of Elad for 8 months, where they pledged to extend electricity to a building there, and that since they left their homes in the village of Rummana last Wednesday - a day before the operation - they told their families that they were going to work in Ram God.

Sbehat estimated that in light of the Israeli occupation’s closure of the openings (holes in the separation wall between the West Bank and inside Israel through which Palestinian workers move) in the Jenin area, the two young men moved to Ramallah to enter through one of the openings there, and this is what actually happened.

Supporters flock

As soon as the news of the arrest spread, a state of happiness and reassurance prevailed in the village of Rummana and among the families of the two young men. Dozens of citizens from the village and the adjacent areas flocked to the Al-Sabihat Diwan in the village to support the families of the two captives and relieve them, as their parents appeared in a group as they sat near each other and received the citizens.

Despite the state of anticipation and fear that preceded the storming of the village of Rummana and the arrest of a number of relatives of the two young men, their families received the solidarity activists and supporters, and their homes were decorated with Palestinian flags.

The "Operation Elad" is the third since last March that the resistance has carried out on a double basis, after the "Hadira" operation and the "Areel settlement" operation about 10 days ago, in which two young friends, Muhammad Meri and Samih Assi, an Israeli guard were killed.

The intentions of the occupation from detention

In turn, the specialist in Israeli affairs, Adel Shadeed, says that the arrest of the two perpetrators is intended for the Israelis to turn the attack and the criticism facing the security services of the occupation into “a victory and achievement for the security services and special army units from the Shin Bet and Yamam” and others, especially after the security and intelligence failure, whether these young men intend to carry out an operation Commando or even delayed arrival to the place of the operation after 15 minutes of its implementation.

The arrest of the heroes of Operation Elad came after the success and victory achieved by this operation in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque and in response to the crimes of the occupation against our people.

The occupation, according to Shadeed, also wants to publish photos and videos of the prisoners to cover up its security failure and shift the thinking of the Israelis from inciting against the security system to forgetting the dead and injured and glorifying soldiers and special army units by linking them night and day to reach the perpetrators.

Shadeed told Al Jazeera Net, "The occupation also wants, with its published videos, showing the two prisoners as if they were in a state of relief - in reference to the image of one of them smoking - beautifying Israel's image by arresting the perpetrators, and in return distorting the image of the Palestinian struggle."

He concluded by saying, "The occupation believes that publishing videos and photos of prisoners will end or solve Israel's security and political crisis, and therefore Operation El-Ad will not be the last."
