- We have a huge job to do when it comes to crushing gangs and crime, says MP's Märta Stenevi.

- But if we are to stop the recruitment to the criminal gangs, we must start from scratch: With preschool, school, area police and social services.

The Sweden Democrats' Jimmie Åkesson is based on other premises.

- This is primarily an immigration problem.

Had we pursued a responsible immigration policy, we would not have had all these vulnerable areas, the violence and the crime we see there today.

According to Åkesson, the problems are solved by making demands:

Requirement that people who come here adapt, learn the language, seek support and adapt to the majority society.

It is people's own responsibility, not society's responsibility.

"Sharp suggestions"

The Sweden Democrats have proposed that the parents who do not take responsibility for their children, but repeatedly let them commit crimes such as throwing stones at the police, should lose their residence permits.

Proposals which, according to Stenevi, would entail collective punishment and that different legal systems would apply depending on whether a person was born in Sweden or in another country.

- It is completely horrible and not acceptable.

We will crush the gangs and not the rule of law, she says.

Åkesson defends himself against that description and believes that it is the "soft line" that the Green Party, the Social Democrats and all parties except SD have led for decades that has not worked and caused exclusion.

- We present proposals that can really reverse this development.

Why do you want to continue with the same old policy that obviously did not work?
