A man was sentenced to 18 months in prison and a 4-year ban on passing his license by the Nîmes criminal court on Friday.

At the wheel of a car, he took all the risks by driving at 100 km / h in town and up to 170 km / h on a Gard departmental road, ran out of stops and took forbidden directions while he was being chased by the gendarmes of Aimargues.

He was driving without a license and under the influence of narcotics.

At the helm, the defendant explained that he took the wheel because his colleague felt bad and that they wanted to go to a McDonald's restaurant.

Already convicted multiple times for traffic offenses in recent years, he had already been sentenced to 8 months in prison for refusing to comply, less than a week earlier.
