A giant bear has been spotted sitting in the passenger seat of a car in Connecticut, USA.

According to foreign media such as NBC on the 3rd local time, Cody Zillotti, who lives in Cornwall, northwestern Connecticut, was resting at home on the evening of the 29th of last month and found the interior light on in her mother-in-law's car parked outside.

Mr. Gillotti was suspicious when his mother-in-law was sleeping at home when the lights of the car suddenly turned on, and when he went outside to check the car, he witnessed a surprising sight.

In the passenger seat of her mother-in-law's car, a large black bear sat with her eyes wide open.

In an interview with NBC, Mr. Zillotti said, "The bear was like a deer frightened by the headlights of a car.

"I think the bear went to my mother-in-law's car when I opened the door of my truck to find something to eat, but couldn't find any food," he said.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) was dispatched after receiving the report from Mr. Zillotti, opening the car door with a rope and chasing the bear into the nearby forest.

"Both my truck and my mother-in-law's car were badly damaged," said Gillotti. "In particular, my mother-in-law's car is about to be scrapped, with seats torn and two doors broken. It also smelled bad."

"It's common to see bears in this area, but it's extremely rare to see a bear in a car," he said.

According to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, there were over 8,000 reports of sightings of wild bears in Connecticut last year, and more than 1,500 reports have been received so far this year.

The Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection said, "We expect that wild bears, who have become more active in the spring, will frequently appear in search of food. It's good," he warned.
