In the appeal, the legislator noted that since the end of February of this year, thousands of refugees from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and from the territory of Ukraine arrived in the Russian Federation.

Among them are children, the deputy added, including high school students who, due to the forced relocation, miss part of their classes.

This situation, objectively, may have a negative impact on the possibility of entering higher educational institutions for many children from refugee families, the parliamentarian noted.

“In this regard, I ask you to evaluate the feasibility of granting schoolchildren from refugee families who will study in the 11th grade in the 2022/23 academic year the right to use the preparatory courses of one of the higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation to choose from free of charge,” the statement reads. in the text of the appeal.

Earlier, the UN announced the departure from Ukraine of more than 5.7 million people from February 24.

More than 714 thousand of them arrived in Russia.
