• Politics The official record does not include Podemos in the Andalusian left-wing coalition, but the 'purple' formation says that it delivered its signature on "time"

The

Electoral Board of Andalusia (JEA)

has agreed this Saturday not to accept the request for the constitution of the electoral coalition 'For Andalusia' made up of

Podemos Andalusia,

IU, Más País Andalucía, Verdes Equo, Green Alliance and the Andalusian People's Initiative

for having registered Out of time.

According to the agreement adopted this Saturday by the JEA, consulted by Europa Press, the request for the constitution of this electoral coalition with the presence of Podemos was sent by email at 0:14 and 01:17 on this Saturday, May 7, with which It exceeds the term established in article 44.2 of the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime (LOREG), which ended at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 6.

The resolution of the JEA states that an appeal can be lodged against said agreement before the Central Electoral Board (JEC) "within 24 hours of its notification, understanding that the period ends the day following the day on which the agreement is notified" .

Thus, and pending the formalization of appeals before the JEC, at this time the only electoral coalition registered to attend the elections on June 19 is the one formed by Izquierda Unida, Más País Andalucía, Equo and Initiative of the Andalusian People, since, as sources from the confluence have explained, seeing that the necessary documentation did not arrive to register the coalition that already included Podemos and Alianza Verde, the other was registered before the deadline expired.

Podemos and IU, integrated into the United We Can for Andalusia coalition, reached an agreement in extremis shortly before midnight to form a unitary candidacy for the elections to the Andalusian Parliament on June 19, and to concur in a coalition called 'For Andalucía' together with Más País Andalucía, Equo, Alianza Verde and the Andalusian People's Initiative, with the person in charge of Institutional Policy of IU Andalucía,

Inmaculada Nieto,

as a candidate for the Presidency of the Board.

However, the deadline was rushed so much that the coalition that registered before midnight did not include the name of Podemos, which did not join the agreement until the last minute.

Now the JEA has refused to register the Por Andalucía coalition with the presence of Podemos for having registered later after the deadline and everything is pending the final decision adopted by the Central Electoral Board (JEC) before the foreseeable appeal that Podemos will present.

Podemos, IU, Más País Andalucía, Alianza Verde, Equo and the Andalusian People's Initiative rushed the deadline to try to close a confluence candidacy due to the lack of agreement between Podemos and IU regarding who should be the head of the poster to the Board , since the purple formation was betting on its deputy for Cádiz,

Juan Antonio Delgado

and finally the candidacy will be headed by Inmaculada Nieto from IU.

We can's version

From Podemos they have explained that at the last minute they delivered to IU "on time" all the documentation, as well as the necessary signatures, to formalize their name in the registry within the unity candidacy for the Andalusian elections on June 19.

According to sources from the purple formation, Podemos sent the IU a first proposal for a document for the coalition with the rest of the political forces (Más País, Equo, Alianza Verde and the Andalusian People's Initiative) one hour before the deadline set by the electoral regulations, and in order to facilitate the process.

About 25 minutes later, the purple formation asserts that the political agreement reached for the unity candidacy was submitted, which obtained the approval of the IU leadership within 10 minutes.

However, according to the account of Podemos, minutes later a document is sent to the

purple

party in which said political agreement is not reflected to add their signatures to the registry.

Finally at 11:57 p.m., the purple formation returns the papers with the pertinent changes, although they specify that minutes later, with the deadline already expired, IU informs them that it was not completed properly.
