On the 5th, Martin Griffiths, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, confirmed in Warsaw, Poland that a humanitarian convoy left for the Mariupol Azov Steel Plant on the same day to carry out the task of evacuating civilians.

The team plans to arrive at its destination on the morning of the 6th local time.

  The Russian Ministry of Defense issued an announcement on the evening of the 4th saying that starting from humanitarian principles, Russia will open the humanitarian corridor from 8:00 am to 18:00 am on May 5, 6 and 7 to evacuate civilians from the Azov Steel Plant.

During the opening of the humanitarian corridor, the Russian Armed Forces and the Donetsk Armed Forces will unilaterally cease all combat operations.

  However, Ukrainian Channel 24 quoted the Ukrainian far-right military organization "Azov Battalion" on the 5th as saying that the Russian army and the Donetsk armed forces used air force, artillery and infantry to attack the Azov steel plant that day.
