North Korea's major state media, such as the Rodong Sinmun and the Korean Central News Agency, did not cover the news about the submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) launched yesterday (the 7th).

North Korea has usually released photos of the launch scene through state media the day after the missile launch, along with articles defining and evaluating the nature of the launch.

North Korea did not report on the matter even after firing a ballistic missile presumed to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on the 4th.

The case that North Korea does not report after launching a missile is when the launch failed, like when the new ICBM 'Hwasong-17' exploded in mid-air on March 16.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff detected that a short-range ballistic missile was fired from a submarine near the Sinpo Sea in South Hamgyong Province at 2:07 pm yesterday, and detected the missile at a flight range of about 600 km and an altitude of about 60 km.

Military and intelligence authorities evaluated this SLBM as a similar model to the 'mini SLBM' launched in October last year and did not judge it as a 'failure'.

There are analyzes that North Korea's continuous silence is a strategy to give the outside world the impression that it is a routine military action, or an intention to adopt a kind of strategic ambiguity.
