“On Saturday, unknown people desecrated a monument to Soviet soldiers in the Raadi park in Tartu,” the report says.
It is noted that a swastika was painted on the monument and an obscene inscription in English was made.
The representative of the Tartu police station, Talis Eit, said that a case had been opened into the incident.
Earlier, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered an investigation into the desecration of a monument on the territory of a fraternal military grave in Latvia.
