"My recovery is going well and the pain is less severe. I breathe much better and everything is going in the right direction. I hope that soon this big fall will be nothing more than a bad memory", wrote on Instagram the Quick-Step team rider.

Julian Alaphilippe had fallen heavily on April 24, 60 kilometers from the finish of Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

He had been hospitalized, suffering in particular from a hemopneumothorax and multiple fractures (ribs and scapula).

"The next exams will decide the rest of my season. Already motivated for the rest and looking forward to seeing you again", continues Alaphilippe, whose participation in the Tour de France, which will start on July 1, is on hold.

The Frenchman's possible participation in the Grande Boucle "is a matter of time trial" and no plan B is yet planned in the event of a package, the manager of the Quick-Step team, Patrick Lefevere, indicated last Sunday.
