A fake Venezuelan doctor has been arrested after tricking a lollipop stick into a contraceptive device to place it on a patient's arm.

According to foreign media reports such as the British daily Mirror on the 30th of last month local time, it was found that at least 25 victims occurred in the operation of Jose Daniel Lopez (38) without a medical degree.

Lopez worked at a public health center in Venezuela after forging his medical degree, and has been using lollipops instead of contraceptives, claiming that it provides 'Implanon', one of the contraceptive procedures for female patients.

The 'Implanon' procedure is a procedure that inserts a 4 cm long device under the skin of the forearm to provide contraception for 3 years.

Lopez's illegal operation became known when a doctor posted on his social media "What he implanted was a lollipop stick".

The doctor who first reported his fraudulent activity said, "I was seeing advertisements for the Implanon contraceptive method on an account presumably run by a gynecologist." .

He then recommended that "all women treated by Lopez should undergo a medical examination."

He was eventually caught when some victims realized that his contraceptive practices were fraudulent and reported Lopez to authorities.

Lopez was arrested on charges of illegal medical practice, abuse of medical facilities, and forgery of documents on the 27th local time after fleeing and hiding in a region of Aragua, Venezuela.
