The Russian Embassy in Washington urged the United States to destroy its chemical weapons

The diplomatic mission recalled that Russia destroyed its chemical weapons in 2017, which was confirmed by the OPCW. 

“It is the United States, and not Russia, that remains the only country party to the Chemical Weapons Convention that has not yet got rid of its stockpiles of chemical warfare agents.

It is known for certain that Washington has the technical capacity and financial resources for accelerated chemical demilitarization,” the embassy said in a Telegram statement.

Russian diplomats urged the Americans to think about why Washington is delaying the elimination of the chemical weapons arsenal and why other countries have already coped with the corresponding task.

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously confirmed the likelihood of US provocations in Ukraine with the use of chemical weapons by the facts of the supply of poisonous antidotes to Kyiv.
