The Popular Party wants to delve into the second derivative of

the Pegasus case

, which yesterday was completely deserted of explanations in the appearance of the director of the CNI,

Paz Esteban

, before the

Official Secrets Commission

of

Congress

.

It is about the espionage that, as the Government itself revealed, occurred, in an "illegal and external" way, to the mobile phones of the president, Pedro Sánchez, and the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles.

To this end, the popular have registered in the Chamber the request to the

Ministry of Defense

and the Ministry of the

Presidency

, signed by the deputy

Pablo Hispán

and the spokeswoman, Cuca Gamarra, that they be sent the technical reports that the

National Cryptologic Center

has prepared after checking the cell phones of Sánchez and Robles based on which the Executive affirms that both were spied on through the Pegasus program.

They also demand the security protocols that all senior government officials must follow in the use of their phones.

The PP thus wants to clarify the veracity of the espionage against the highest officials, in short, to clear up the "no minor coincidence" that so surprised its leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, when the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, reported the attack on the devices of the president and the minister coinciding with the espionage, presumably massive, to people linked to the independence cause.

By the way, the

popular

ones want it to be shown if the members of the Government actually complied with the measures that the intelligence services establish to guarantee the confidentiality of the Executive's communications.

It is a demand that, predictably, will not have a course because the judge of the

National Court

has declared this case under summary secrecy and has offered the two affected, Sánchez and Robles, to appear in the case as injured parties.

In this way, the first opposition party will have to wait for the appearance that the Prime Minister has pending in Congress to report on the

Pegasus case

.

That appearance, requested by all the groups in the Chamber with the exception of PSOE and United We Can, does not currently have a date for its celebration.

In addition to this requirement for documents, the popular have addressed a series of questions to the Government for which they demand a written answer, interested in knowing if both Pedro Sánchez and Margarita Robles complied with all the security guidelines that must protect their telephone communications.

They also want to clarify the exact dates on which the participation of the former second vice president, Pablo Iglesias, began and ended in the meetings of the Government's delegate commission for Intelligence Affairs.

This commission is the one in charge of coordinating the information services of the state and, in addition, the one that proposes to the president the Intelligence Directive, which is secret, in which the objectives on which the CNI must work are collected.

They also want the Government to explain if in the meetings of said delegated commission it became aware of the activities carried out by the intelligence services in relation to the process of independence of Catalonia during the time in which Pablo Iglesias had a chair in it.
