In his report, Frösunda provides personal assistance with a similar picture of the incident as Ingvar's siblings, namely that Ingvar's assistant had become ill and he had therefore been without personal assistance for just over a week.

The company also writes that Ingvar did not want help from the municipality if a regular assistant is missing or ill.

"

Even if Frösunda had not been able to prevent the death, the customer would probably have been found earlier if Frösunda had taken adequate measures"

Only one person took care of Ingvar

Ingvar Lomhed was 65 years old and had the disease MS.

He was granted over 80 hours of personal assistance, which is equivalent to more than two full-time positions.

Frösunda assistance, however, had not succeeded in recruiting more than one assistant to Ingvar, so when he became ill there was no one else available.

The company also writes that contact attempts were made by the assistance company but without success.

This is also confirmed by the text messages that were in Ingvar's phone and which SVT received.

Has introduced new routines

The company, which operates throughout the country, also refers to a number of measures taken to prevent similar irregularities from being repeated:

  • New routines for how the company should act when a customer does not respond

  • Checklists for new customers are updated with information on where Frösunda should turn when the customer does not respond

  • The regional manager, together with operations managers, will review and inform about the event within the entire business area
