President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol presided over a security situation inspection meeting at the newly installed National Crisis Management Center in the Yongsan Presidential Office.



The meeting was attended by nominees for the next major positions in the National Security Office, including Foreign Minister Candidate Park Jin, Unification Minister Kwon Young-se, Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop, President Kim Dae-gi-nominee, and National Security Office Director Kim Seong-han nominee.



"The purpose of the meeting is to review and master the system for responding to security situations in a timely manner, such as holding the National Security Council (NSC) in case of emergency, following the evaluation of the security situation on the Korean Peninsula, including the possibility of North Korea's 7th nuclear test and ballistic missile launch," said Yoon's representative. President-elect Yoon emphasized that there should be no gaps in national security and that practical measures should be taken to strengthen security capabilities against all threats, including North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.



As President-elect Yoon moved the presidential office from the old Blue House to the Yongsan Ministry of National Defense, the National Crisis Management Center, previously called the Blue House bunker, was also newly installed in the Yongsan government building.



Members of today's (6th) meeting can be said to be 'prospective members' of the next government NSC.



President-elect Yoon said, "Currently, the National Crisis Management Center in the Yongsan Government Complex has completed all preparations for normal mission performance," and has been operating 24 hours since yesterday.



He said, "As of 00:00 on the 10th, all authority will be transferred from the Moon Jae-in administration's Crisis Management Center so that there is no security gap."
