The Tunisian General Labor Union stressed its refusal to participate in a formal political dialogue, and affirmed its rejection of any adventure that threatens the unity of the country, while the opposition Salvation Front expected the dissolution of the parties and the arrest of their leaders, while President Kais Saied warned of parties that want to infiltrate power and burn the country.

Today, Friday, the Union called for a real, direct and broad dialogue in which there are no pre-decisions or recommendations for conclusions prepared for it in advance, and agreement on its objectives, framework, parties and axes.

In a statement, the Tunisian General Labor Union renewed its rejection of any useless, conditional, formal dialogue that marginalizes the active national political and social forces.

He expressed his rejection of any adventure targeting the country's unity through the establishment of strange parallel entities that would deepen the crisis and lead to collision and further division, and called for an end to it.

He said that "the goals of the national dialogue and its axes and the participants in it must be agreed upon."

Earlier, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labor Union, Sami Tahri, said that there is a real danger from all sides, especially with regard to the state of confusion, hesitation and the unclear path that the country is experiencing.

Al-Tahri added - in press statements - that the relationship between the Tunisian General Labor Union and the President of the Republic is almost broken, and that the union will not participate in what he described as the "murder" of the parties, and will seek to avoid the country from reaching a worse situation.

Incitement to strife

For his part, the head of the National Salvation Front in Tunisia, Najib Chebbi, said that the authorities are preparing to dissolve the parties and arrest their leaders.

Chebbi called on the security forces to assume their responsibilities and protect people and property, noting that there was information about the intention of some groups to attack the headquarters of the Ennahda movement, and accused President Kais Saied of targeting the front and inciting Tunisians against each other.

On Thursday, former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki (2011-2014) warned of what he called the danger of rivalry and fighting between Tunisians, and of an explosion that threatens the state as a result of the path led by current President Kais Saied.

Al-Marzouki called on what he described as loyal patriots to move to get rid of what he called "the organized ruin of an illegal coup," adding on his official account on Facebook that the state is threatened with an explosion as never happened in the history of Tunisia.

delicate envelope

Tunisian President Kais Saied said earlier that the country was living in a delicate circumstance, "and there are institutions working to address all types of crime."

He added that there are - on the other hand - policies that are working to burn the country, noting that the recent fires in some places in Tunisia were not a coincidence, as he put it.

Saeed confirmed - in a meeting with officials at the Ministry of the Interior yesterday evening Thursday - that there are those who infiltrated state institutions in order to detonate them from the inside, who do not want a referendum or elections, but rather want to fall into the arms of the outside and burn the state and its institutions, as he put it.

In his speech, the Tunisian president stressed that sovereignty belongs to the Tunisians and not to those who deal with the outside, and that there is no dialogue with "those who sold their conscience at the lowest prices in the slave market," as he put it, indicating that he bears the responsibility to preserve the homeland from those who want to burn it, as he put it.

It is noteworthy that a huge fire broke out yesterday, Thursday, in an oasis in the city of Hamma in the state of Gabes (southern of the country), in the second major fire in the region within days, and another fire broke out in the port of Sfax.

A few days ago, a huge fire engulfed the "Jara market" for henna in Gabes, and completely destroyed about 30% of the shops in it, causing severe material damage to the merchants.

During the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, fires broke out in other regions of the country, including in particular a clothing factory in the state of Ben Arous (near the capital) and a warehouse for buses in the state of Bizerte (in the north).
