In Morocco, a suspected member of the Islamic State organization was arrested on Friday May 6 in Berkane, in the northeast of the country.
The announcement was made by the anti-terrorism police.
This arrest was made in coordination with the FBI.
According to Rabat, the man planned to carry out terrorist attacks on Moroccan soil.

This 37-year-old man is suspected of having wanted to carry out terrorist acts in the country.
According to the anti-terrorist police, he would have planned to commit attacks against Moroccan and foreign personalities on Moroccan soil.

An arrest before an important meeting
In the same press release, the BCIJ stresses "

".
This arrest comes a few days before an important meeting.
On Wednesday May 11, the international anti-Islamic State coalition, co-chaired by Morocco and the United States, is to meet in Marrakech.
According to Rabat, more than 2,000 terrorist cells have been dismantled in 20 years in the country.
