Russia's invasion of Ukraine has shed light on Europe's dependence on Russian energy.

For the Swedish part, the energy supply is currently good, according to the Minister of Energy.

Sweden's dependence on Russian energy is low and the supply of electricity looks good.

But when the warm months are over and households' energy needs increase, it gets tougher again.

- It is very likely with a winter season that, like this one, is fraught with high electricity, gas and fuel prices.

The war in Ukraine continues.

The international situation will continue to affect our prices.

Farmanbar: Do not count on support measures

This winter, citizens cannot count on support measures like those in January, where households could receive relief totaling SEK 6,000.

- We will not be able to compensate for all the high prices that arise due to the war in the same way in the future.

The whole society, and then also individual households, must now take responsibility for their energy use, says Farmanbar.

- In Sweden, we currently have about 150,000 single-family homes with direct-acting electricity, about 12,500 households that use gas for heating.

"Change heating system - not terrace"

In its spring budget, the government has proposed an investment of SEK 10 million to increase skills for an energy-efficient renovation of the detached house stock.

No targeted support to households is needed, today's ROT deduction of SEK 50,000 for renovations is sufficient, according to the Minister of Energy.

- Now it's time to change the heating system instead of expanding your terrace, or expanding your bathroom.
