"Kawkabani" is an entertaining cartoon series whose idea was born in 2018, and saw the light after 4 years, and aims to promote the Qatar World Cup, and its events take place in the outskirts of Qatar with the aim of sharing the local culture with the global audience.

The series is directed by Hussein Haidar and produced by the Nafeesh Animation Studio. It contains 5 episodes, each episode is 11 minutes long, and its first episodes were shown on YouTube during the blessed Eid al-Fitr, with the rest of the episodes being shown weekly.

The events of the series revolve around an alien creature called "Kawkabani" who is a big fan of football, and he attends all the World Cup tournaments, and while he is on his way to attend the World Cup in Qatar, his vehicle crashed in the Sealine Desert, and he was found by 3 Qatari youths who decided to host him until the World Cup, to know during this period On the culture, customs, generosity, way of life of the people of Qatar and all that awaits visitors to the World Cup.

Qatari writer Amal Al-Shammari explains that the aim of the series, which used a cartoon-like technique, is to introduce the viewer to the State of Qatar in general;

Al-Shammari tells Al-Jazeera Net that there are many questions about Arab culture in general and Qatari culture in particular, and in the series Kawkabani raises most of these questions that revolve in the mind of any visitor, and then the response to them comes in a comic way.

Al-Shammari believes that the Qatari and Gulf culture is full of stories that have not yet been told, and it is an incentive for creators to work on writing stories inspired by this heritage and to highlight it to the world with international quality.

"Kawkabani" is the first experience in writing series for the young Qatari writer. She has previously written stories, poems and scripts for short and commercial videos, and is currently working on children's work.

He adds that in light of the spread of digital content, it has become necessary to spread Arab culture through legends, characters and stories inspired by this culture, working to present it to the world with distinctive quality and enjoyable comic content.

Animation is a global language targeting everyone of all ages and nationalities, and imagination in it has no limits or ceiling, and "Kawkabani" is the product of the cooperation of local talents to produce an integrated work that competes with the global market and puts Qatar on the map of cartoon production, and it is also a means for the world to share our Arab culture and values, according to Haidar. .
