It is just over an hectare of land that the wild boars have plowed up, Hultsfred airport estimates.

The tufts of grass must be flattened, and new grass must be sown for the runway to be recognizable again, something that Vimmerby newspaper was the first to tell.

Airport manager Evert Oskarsson thinks he has a day's work ahead of him.

- The problem is that it is not certain that the grass will recover during this season.

For the model aviation club, the season is over, they can not use this field so they have got a new field, he says.

Should put up a fence

In May, the gliders will have camps in the area, and the club is worried that the runway will not be completed on time.

- When the guys who were going to fly saw this, they thought it was very difficult and some started crying, says Evert Oskarsson.

So far, the hunters have shot three wild boars at the airport, one of which weighed 100 kilos.

The concrete runway, on the other hand, does not affect the pigs.

- We are in the process of setting up a comprehensive fence around the facility, but it will take some time.

We also have some shooters who are here almost every night since this happened.
