Thursday, a 51-year-old man residing in Vannes (Morbihan) was sentenced for harassing his ex-partner.

A case that started with a report to 3919, a special number reserved for women victims of violence, then with a complaint from the victim filed in the summer of 2021. The defendant was sentenced to a four-month prison sentence with suspended by the correctional court of Vannes, reports

According to the daily, the defendant described himself as a man "too romantic".

The victim portrays the portrait of a companion who has multiplied "humiliation, blackmail and psychological violence" since their breakup in 2018. Both are beneficiaries of the allowance for disabled adults and met in a day hospital where they were treating their addictions.

For three years, the man first sent multiple text messages before his number was blocked.

He will then write dozens of letters that he left on the terrace of his victim, adds

Already convicted of domestic violence, the defendant received a second four-month suspended prison sentence.

He will have to follow care and is prohibited from coming into contact with the victim.

He will have to pay him 1,000 euros in compensation.
