Following the expiration of the deadline for claiming benefits for the bereaved families of workers who died from asbestos health damage at the end of March, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party called on the opposition parties to cooperate and extended the deadline in the current Diet session. It is a policy aiming at the enactment of a bill to do so.

Among the bereaved families of workers who died due to health damage caused by asbestos, a "special bereaved family benefit" system has been established for the bereaved families who cannot receive compensation due to work-related accidents because the statute of limitations has passed more than 5 years since their death. However, the billing deadline expired on March 27th.

The Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party have proposed an amendment to the Asbestos Health Damage Relief Act to extend the deadline for claiming benefits by 10 years, in light of the fact that patients and bereaved families are calling for an extension of the deadline. I summarized it.

The billing deadline has been extended twice in the past, and since the amended law to extend the deadline has been unanimously enacted, both the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party have decided on this amendment as well. After calling for cooperation, our policy is to aim for establishment in the current Diet session.
