One day in June 2021, Madame Bouchet's life changed.

This 96-year-old woman was violently knocked down by an electric scooter as she crossed a pedestrian crossing along Place Bellecour in Lyon.

Since then, the nonagenarian has suffered from incomplete quadriplegia.

The defendant, who admitted the facts, is appearing before the Lyon court this Thursday, May 5 for involuntary injuries resulting in ITT for more than 3 months.

Apart from her personal story, Mrs. Bouchet's family would like this trial to serve as an example, and that scooter drivers submit to the highway code like all other vehicles.
