The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 14.9 million people have died worldwide due to the global COVID-19 pandemic that has continued over the past two years.

That equates to 1 in 500 deaths.

This is 2.7 times the number of cumulative deaths reported by the WHO until recently.

The WHO explained that this is because it includes not only corona patients, but also people who have lost their lives due to indirect effects, such as patients with other diseases who died because of the increased burden on the medical and health system due to the corona virus.

84% of the deaths were reported from Southeast Asia, Europe and the Americas, and 68% came from 10 countries, including Brazil, India and the United States.

In particular, the World Health Organization estimates that the death toll in India will be between 3.3 and 6.5 million.
