In the clip above, you can see the store manager and residents of Bengtsfors and Åmål talk about their experiences of insecurity in Dalsland.

One of the two large grocery stores in Bengtsfors tells SVT that they had major problems with, among other things, youth gangs who entered the store and "lived robbers".

- Then my staff was quite scared and felt insecure.

They find it very difficult, especially on the weekends, says Cecilia Karlsson, store manager at Coop in Bengtsfors.

Staff do not dare to act

The police say that many elderly people do not dare to go to the store if young people stay outside, and that shoplifting is very common.

- You go in, pick up what you want, and a lone store staff does not dare to act, says Peter Torstensson, area police in Bengtsfors.

Accommodation: Feels safe here

But not everyone experiences insecurity in the small municipalities in northern Dalsland.

Ulrika Thoresson lives in Åmål and works in Bengtsfors.

She says she feels safe.

- I have lived in Åmål for many years, and I think it feels safe and quiet to live here, she says.
