In the autumn, the independent school was started in southern Stockholm, but after it emerged from Säpo that there is a risk that the students are exposed to the influence of an Islamist ideology, the authority withdraws the permit.

The Swedish Schools Inspectorate also believes that there are serious irregularities in the foundation's finances.

The students who are affected when the school closes must be offered a new place in their home municipality.

The Framstegsskolan Foundation has the opportunity to appeal the decision, which applies from 17 August 2022.

As early as November 2021, the School Citizens' Council in Stockholm reacted to the school being allowed to continue its teaching.
