Recently, the sea around the Korean Peninsula is getting busier again.

The US Navy's amphibious assault ship Tripoli, carrying 20 stealth fighters, is headed for the western Pacific Ocean, and Japanese and Chinese carriers are intertwined in the seas south of Japan.

Defense reporter Kim Tae-hoon analyzes.

The US Navy's amphibious assault ship Tripoli departed from San Diego base on the 2nd local time and began an operation to deploy in the Western Pacific.

Tripoli is the first U.S. Navy carrier-class force equipped with 20 F-35B stealth fighters for vertical take-off and landing.

After completing the operation practice of 20 F-35Bs in the western seas of the United States, they are heading straight to the western Pacific, where China and the Korean Peninsula are located.

It is an additional deployment of strategic asset-class ships in the western Pacific, where the Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, and American amphibious assault ships are still deployed.

[Shin Jong-woo / Senior Analyst, Korea Defense Security Forum: The Tripoli is a ship designed to focus on the operation of mounted aircraft such as the F-35B.

It seems that China intends to overwhelm the Chinese navy with its weak stealth fighter force.]

There is also a possibility that Tripoli will participate in the ROK-U.S. joint military exercise, which is being resumed after four years.

Meanwhile, Chinese and Japanese carriers are roaring in the seas south of Japan.

The Japanese Ministry of Defense announced that the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning advanced into the sea southeast of Japan through the southern tip of Okinawa on the 1st, leading seven ships, including a destroyer and a combat support ship.

Japan dispatched the light carrier Izumo to track down the Liaoning carrier group.

The maritime nerve battle between Liaoning and Izumo is the second since December last year.

As Japan jumped into public control, such as building a missile base on an island in the East China Sea around Taiwan and planning a joint US-Japan operation plan, China is responding strongly by deploying a carrier group.
