They are 100,000 Kenyans, belonging to the Talai clan, to sign this letter addressed to Prince William, second in the order of succession to the British crown behind his father, Charles.

They recall in their letter the conclusions of a United Nations investigation: sexual exploitation, torture, expulsions inflicted by the British Empire... According to this investigation, London should apologize to them and offer reparations to the clan, at the forefront of the anti-imperialist resistance.

“

A lot of us are old.

There is an urgent need to restore our dignity

 ,” write the Talai.

“

We inherited the pain, and you inherited the profits.

The Talai territories of the Rift Valley were thus turned into tea plantations, the inhabitants being relegated to detention camps or to areas infested with tsetse flies and mosquitoes.

Faced with the refusal of the British government to recognize the specific case of this clan, they hope to make Prince William an ambassador.

It was in Kenya that the latter proposed to his wife Kate.

And it was also in Kenya that her grandmother Elizabeth II was when she became queen.

Three Talai ambassadors are to meet elected officials in London to plead their cause.
