“In the Main Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee, in connection with the shelling of a column of refugees, a criminal case has been initiated against unidentified persons from among the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other Ukrainian military formations,” the agency said in a statement.

According to the investigation, on May 4, the Ukrainian military fired on columns of cars with refugees on the road near the village of Stary Saltov in the Kharkiv region.

As a result of the shelling, three civilians were killed, and 13 more people were injured.

Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that a convoy of refugees, consisting of dozens of cars, came under fire from a Ukrainian checkpoint in the Kharkiv region.
