Reconquest!, the party of Eric Zemmour, will present candidates in each of the six Gard constituencies during the legislative elections.
Former lawyer and deputy Gilbert Collard, elected in 2012 then re-elected in 2017 under the banner of the National Rally, will be a substitute for the second constituency.
Gilbert Collard resigned from his mandate on July 1, 2019 after his election to the European Parliament, leaving his post to his deputy Nicolas Meizonnet.
The far right in the lead in the Gard during the presidential elections
In this constituency very marked by Camargue traditions, the far right has been achieving significant scores there for more than a decade.
“Everything is playable”, warns the MEP when discussing these general elections.
At the level of the department, Marine Le Pen (RN) came first in the two rounds of presidential elections (52.15% in the second).
Eric Zemmour flirted with the 10% mark in the first round, winning 9.29% of the votes cast.
