“The US authorities once again prevented the arrival of Russian representatives to an event held under the auspices of the UN ... Such an aggressive course, of course, will not go unanswered,” Zakharova said, her words are quoted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The department recalled that a number of Russian diplomats were not issued US visas to participate in the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

Zakharova noted that Washington is consistently violating its obligations under the UN in order to intensify the confrontation with Moscow.

On May 4, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of Russia to the organization, said that the participation of the Russian delegation in the session of the UN Committee on Information was disrupted due to US actions: the head of the delegation, Maria Zakharova, received a visa too late, and two experts do not yet have visas at all.

In turn, the representative of the Secretary General, Stephane Dujarric, said that the UN administration will continue to raise the issue of the US not issuing visas to Russian diplomats who go to meetings in the organization.
