Did Nordahl Lelandais kill Loïc Guérin in 2012, before committing the murders of Arthur Noyer and Maëlys de Araujo, five years later?

At this stage, there is nothing to confirm this.

The Grenoble prosecutor's office, however, confirmed on Thursday that it had opened an investigation to determine whether the former soldier had a link with the death of this 42-year-old man, suffering from autism.

She was entrusted to the research section of the Grenoble gendarmerie.

It was the weekly

Marianne

who revealed the affair.

An anonymous letter was sent to the association Assistance and Search for Disappeared Persons (ARPD) during the Maëlys murder trial.

It was written by an old friend of Lelandais.

The author, who has not revealed his identity, explains that he witnessed a strange scene, in which his friend began to track down a "weird" person, in the heart of the Chartreuse massif and at the help of his three dogs.

Seeing the individual walking in the middle of the road that day, Lelandais would have stopped to get out of his car and insult him.

Panicked, the man reportedly ran off into a forest, chased by the former dog handler and his animals.

The anonymous claims to have waited a long time, before seeing Nordahl Lelandais come back alone.

At the time, Loïc Guérin, who was missing from his home, was found dead at the foot of a cliff.

Investigators had concluded an "accidental death".
