The body of a 16-year-old teenager was discovered by a walker this Tuesday morning in Sainte-Marie-la-Blanche (Côte-d'Or).

The young man was immersed in about 40 cm of water under a bridge spanning the Vandeunette river.

The witness immediately called the emergency services, which however were unable to resuscitate the victim.

“He is a young boy from the town who was not talked about, someone very discreet and close to nature.

He was promised a bright future, ”said Mayor Michel Quinet.

A gendarmerie investigation will have to determine under what circumstances the victim died.

An autopsy will be performed.

The military wants to know the schedule of the teenager on Monday and determine if another vehicle is involved in his death.
