explains why there is no reason to worry.

This Thursday morning, at 8:50 a.m., motorists traveling on the secondary road adjoining the airport runway may have believed that a tragedy had been narrowly avoided.

A reader told us that an aircraft from the Volotea company, in the landing phase, gears down, suddenly overshot as it was about to touch the ground.

, the airport management wanted to be reassuring.

“No worries, the device had no technical problems.

It's just pilot training procedures,” we were told.

In fact, the Volotea company, which has just established a base at Lille airport, must train its pilots for this new environment.

"A dozen pilots are trained to recognize the terrain, the approach and landing procedures", specifies the management of the airport.

These training sessions, regulated, take place from 8 a.m. to noon, and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

They started on Wednesday and are due to end this Thursday.
