Sweden will make a decision on joining NATO on May 15th

Sweden's ruling Social Democratic Party plans to make a decision in the middle of this month on the country's joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), as the issue is of growing importance in the midst of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It is scheduled to meet prominent members of the party of Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Anderson in a special session on May 15 to discuss the issue of joining NATO, and other issues.

The party's general secretary, Tobias Boden, told the Swedish news agency TT that the party's position on this issue can therefore be determined.

And the Social Democrats led by Anderson are under great pressure, as several parties supported the idea of joining the alliance, against the backdrop of the changing security situation in Europe.
