According to figures from the Internet Foundation, six percent of Swedes live in digital exclusion.

For example, every fifth pensioner does not use the internet.

Eigil Deikmahns in Luleå is 99 years old and now wants to start learning modern technology to better keep in touch with friends and keep up with what is happening in the world.

- If I add the mane, I can learn quite a lot, says Eigil Deikmahns.

No lack of interest

For many who live in a digital exclusion, it is not the lack of interest that has caused the exclusion, but rather that there is a lack of support or that the technology is not user-friendly.

- There will be a very big difference in society, those who can handle the digital technology and those who do not handle it in the same way.

It will clearly be an exclusion, says Agnes Eriksson at the elderly support at Luleå municipality.

"Many are willing to try"

At the seniors' support, seniors can borrow tablets and get help learning to use them.

- There are many who are willing to try.

It has been realized that you probably have to try to keep up, says Agnes Eriksson.
