Kuwaiti MP proposes imposing entry fees on Egyptians .. "reciprocity"

A Kuwaiti representative submitted a proposal obligating the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs to take the necessary measures to implement the principle of reciprocity by imposing entry fees for Egyptian citizens into the country.

The deputy stated that this is similar to what is being done in the treatment of Kuwaiti citizens when they enter Egyptian territory.

Al-Qabas newspaper quoted Badr Al-Humaidi as justifying the matter by saying that he considers the regulation of diplomatic relations and international transactions to be part of the coordination of the state’s foreign policy and represents one of the support facilities in Kuwait’s relations with other countries, as well as state organizations and bodies and the care of Kuwait’s interests abroad to take the necessary measures in accordance with the laws regulating these relationships and policies

And the media reported that the authorities in Egypt impose fees of different values ​​when requesting entry visas for Kuwaitis to it and even visit tourist areas from time to time, at a time when citizens of this country are exempted from paying entry and residence fees for considerations of private relations.

Al-Hamidi continued, “In order to achieve equality of reciprocity in accordance with the prevailing norms in international relations systems, I therefore suggest that the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs take the necessary measures to implement the principle of reciprocity by imposing entry fees for Egyptian citizens into the country similar to what is done in the treatment of Kuwaitis upon their entry. Egyptian territory, provided that this procedure is implemented as soon as it is issued, taking into account the application of the principle of reciprocity, the treatment of citizens of the State of Kuwait with other countries.

The Kuwaiti MP published a tweet in which he stressed the need to implement this matter immediately and without delay.
