This was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers.

“We in the government discussed in detail the issues of cinematography at a meeting in December, and it was decided to provide additional assistance.

We will allocate another 5.5 billion rubles for the production of national films,” the Prime Minister said.

Mishustin also recalled that over 9 billion rubles were provided to support cinematography this year, so this year the film industry will receive more than 14.5 billion rubles.

The government expressed the hope that such measures will allow dozens of new projects to be put into production.

Earlier it was reported that cultural venues in Moscow have prepared more than 400 events for the May holidays.
