The BBC reported today (local time) on the 4th (local time) that it was revealed that a male prisoner and a female prison guard who went missing in the US state of Alabama had a 'special relationship'.

The Alabama Sheriff's Office said an investigation into a fellow inmate of murder suspect Casey White, 38, who had escaped from prison, revealed that Casey and prison guard Vicky White, 56, who was suspected of helping him, had a special relationship, the Alabama Sheriff's Office said.

Sheriff Rick Singleton said: "Investigators have received information from Lauderdale County Jail inmates that they have a special relationship, and have since confirmed this through investigation and separate sources and means."

However, the police investigation did not reveal whether the two were romantically involved.

They disappeared together on the 29th of last month after they left the Lauderdale County Jail together in the name of Casey's mental feelings.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Vicky, a prison guard, submitted his resignation papers the day before his disappearance, and that the date of disappearance was his last working day.

He is said to have recently sold his house and told his colleagues that he planned to spend more time at the beach.

Police suspect that Vicky was preparing to escape by breaking the rules, such as escorting Casey alone.

Investigators have warned that Casey, who is about 2.05 meters tall, may have been armed and could be extremely dangerous.

Vicky appears to be avoiding tracking, using cash with her phone turned off, and US Secret Service is helping track down financial records.

Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly said, "I really trusted Vicky with my life.

Casey was sentenced to 75 years in prison in 2015 for trespassing and car theft.

She also confessed in 2020 that he was the culprit in the 2015 murder of a woman, but has since been awaiting trial at his wife's Hay Detention Center.
