Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan revealed that Ankara was preparing a project that would allow the voluntary return of one million Syrians hosted by Turkey to their country, "with the support of Turkish and international organizations."

Erdogan said during his participation today, Tuesday - via a video message - in the ceremony of handing over brick houses in Idlib, Syria, in which Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu participated, "about 500,000 Syrians have returned to the safe areas provided by Turkey since the launch of its operations in Syria in 2016." "We are preparing for a new project that will allow the voluntary return of one million of our Syrian brothers that we host in our country," the official Anadolu news agency quoted Erdogan as saying, noting that the project "will be implemented with the support of Turkish and international civil organizations."

The Turkish president explained that the project "will be largely comprehensive, and will be implemented in 13 areas, headed by Azaz, Jarablus, Al-Bab, Tal Abyad and Ras Al-Ain, in cooperation with the local councils in those areas, with the construction of various facilities within the framework of the project, such as schools and hospitals."

He added that the project "includes making the residential communities to be built self-sufficient in terms of economic infrastructure, from agriculture to industry," noting that "57,306 houses have been completed in northern Syria to date, as part of the campaign to build 77,000 homes, with support From civil organizations and coordination from the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority.

The Turkish president said, "These residential communities are designed to be suitable places for living and do not lack any facilities, such as mosques, schools, health centers, ovens and children's gardens, and 50,000 families have been accommodated until today in homes whose construction has been completed, and more of them will be built."

Erdogan pointed out that "no one is displaced from their home and homes for no reason and throws themselves into an unknown future."
