The Yoon Seok-yeol administration has decided to push forward with a step-by-step plan to compulsorily reflect the period of military service in the 'hobong'.

The promise of 'a soldier's monthly salary of 2 million won' will be realized by 2025 by paying large sums of money.

Among the '110 national tasks' announced today (3rd), the 20th Presidential Transition Committee announced these contents in relation to improving the welfare of soldiers.

The transition committee announced, "We will promote the introduction of a social preferential system for compulsory service personnel," and foreshadowed the revision of the Veterans' Act to prepare the relevant legal basis.

Through this, we plan to implement a measure to make it mandatory to include military service experience in a way such as reflecting the pay scale from this year.

In particular, he said, "We will push for mandatory national and public institutions, and consider expanding it to the private sector in the future."

Currently, the number of places where the military service period is calculated as a salary is limited to some such as civil servants.

Accordingly, it is known that the transition committee plans to gradually expand the calculation of the military service salary for public institutions, while gradually expanding it to the private sector based on the effects and results.

He also presented specific plans for realizing '2 million won per month', which was a key promise during the election of President-elect Yoon.

The transition committee said, "We will strengthen the state support for military service fulfillment through social advancement subsidies while raising the salary in stages for the fulfillment of military service obligations."

It is known that the asset formation program is a method in which soldiers pour a certain amount into a savings account, and the government preserves a certain amount and calls the accumulated amount.

However, this is interpreted as a slight setback from the original promise of paying 2 million won per month.

It seems that concerns about side effects such as raising funds and reversing salaries with junior executives have acted.

Expanding the time for soldiers to possess mobile phones, which is currently limited to 'during work', is also being promoted as part of the national task.

At the same time, the transition committee announced that it would expand private outsourcing for 'simple tasks' in the military and create a customized military culture for young people to expand opportunities for self-development during the period of service.

In addition, the plan is to improve the living room of the barracks dormitory for 2 to 4 people, while improving the treatment of professional soldiers, such as improving the military allowance, housing support, and guaranteeing military human rights, as well as improving the service conditions for elementary officers.
