On Monday, Dorotea was suddenly on the weather map in SVT's broadcasts.

For many years, residents of Dorotea have contacted SVT to get the place placed on the map.

- SVT opens an editorial office there.

There are many who wanted to have Dorotea on the map.

Now it feels justified, says Nils Holmqvist, SVT meteorologist.

"Politicians get in touch"

There is a lot of pressure and great interest among the public about the weather map.

- Sometimes politicians get in touch and want to include places on the map.

It is an advertising value in itself to be involved.

Many private individuals also get in touch and want to include their place.

Nils Holmqvist will be present in Dorotea on Monday the ninth of May when the editorial office is inaugurated.

It was also "Nisse" who made sure that Dorotea ended up on the map.

- I wanted to do it before I go to Dorotea.

Lately, there have been a lot of requests, now that the editorial office is opening.

Is Dorotea on the map to stay now?

- Yes, you do not have to hold your breath.

It is highly likely that Dorotea will remain.

But you never know.

The places are there for you to be able to orientate yourself

What will be the next place on the map?

- Now it actually looks a bit cold on the coast.

Maybe Robertsfors or Lövånger can be squeezed in.

But it's all about space.

We must be able to have our symbols.

The places are there so you can orient yourself.

See Nils Holmqvist show how it went when Dorotea came on the map - and hear about all the mishaps it was causing.
